TFC’s ‘Adobo Nation’ Wins at 37th Annual Telly Awards

ABS-CBN The Filipino Channel’s (TFC) U.S.-produced weekly magazine show, Adobo Nation, is enjoying a banner year, winning three Bronze medals at the 37th Annual Telly Awards and receiving a nomination at the 45th Annual Northern California Area EMMY® Awards.

The winners at the 37th Annual Telly Awards were selected from 13,000 entries across 50 states and five continents. The Telly awards of Adobo Nation are in the show’s “Sari-Sari, Etc.” that includes “Sari-Sari, Etc: Creativity Explored” (2 Bronze Tellys for Film/Video – TV Programs, Segments, or Promotional Pieces – Education and Film/Video and TV Programs, Segments, or Promotional Pieces – Charitable/Not-for-profit); “Sari-Sari, Etc: Sama Sama Cooperative Camp” ( one Bronze Telly for Film/Video – TV Programs, Segments, or Promotional Pieces – Cultural.

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is a premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and web commercials, videos and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

Meanwhile, Adobo Nation’s “Sari-Sari, Etc” feature called, “The Prodigy”, received a 45th Annual Northern California Area EMMY® Awards nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Sports-Feature Segment.

“The Prodigy” follows 12-year-old Filipino-American Muay Thai champion Justin Rodriguez’s quest to become the greatest fighter of his generation. Despite his undefeated record and years of training, Justin needed to overcome his fear of full-contact fighting before a recent title match.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). San Francisco/Northern California is one of the 19 chapters awarding regional Emmy® statuettes.

Northern California is composed of media companies and individuals from Visalia to the Oregon border and includes Hawaii and Reno, Nevada. 

Entries  included those that were aired during the 2015 calendar year. This year a record number of 757 English and 179 Spanish entries were received in 67 categories. English and Spanish language entries were judged and scored separately.

The Emmy® Gala returns SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco on Saturday, June 4.

The seven-character box ID can be found in the Settings of the ABS-CBN TVplus box. Once a text confirmation is received, press SCAN on the TVplus remote control to activate KBO on the ABS-CBN TVplus’ 7th channel.  For remote controls without a SCAN button, press the MAIL button. KBO logo will be displayed on the 7th channel after scanning.

Apart from movies, your P30 will go a long way since families can also catch the movies on KBO via their mobile phones through iWant TV, the video-on-demand platform that is accessible on ABS-CBNmobile. The offering is also bundled with a one (1) day 200MB iWant TV access and all-day access to Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Twitter, Viber, and Kakao Talk once registered.

Meanwhile, load for ABS-CBNmobile is available in SM Store, SM Savemore, 7-Eleven, Cebuana Lhuillier, Generika at sari-sari stores or telco tiangges na may autoload max.

The Kapamilya Box Office of ABS-CBN TVplus is available in GMA, Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Benguet, Metro Cebu, and Davao City.
