IF YOU’RE a TV drama fanatic, you must be familiar with the name Francis Magundayao. He used to be a child star on both the Kapuso and Kapamilya networks. He is now 15 years old, an age many producers and directors consider awkward because he is no longer a child but neither an adult to portray characters older than his age.
But in the teen drama #ewankosau Saranghaeyo, Francis plays his age, a high school student in a specialized school meant for students interested in the arts. He is paired with another ex-child star, now 17 years old, Barbie Forteza who is very much a Kapuso while Francis is identified with the Kapamilya network.
Francis was introduced to TV audience in Kapuso network’s version of Darna with Angel Locsin. As a freelance actor, he would shuttle between GMA Network and ABS-CBN eventually staying put in the latter.
In his pubescent years, he played mostly dramatic roles in Kapamilya’s premier drama anthology show Maalaala Mo Kaya.
This is Francis’ first foray on the big screen. The movie is produced by Bonfire Production, a company his mother established, to assure he joins the league of young actors now making waves as “indie” performers. It is now screening in theaters nationwide
