There’s a rotund newbie in the movie #ewankosau playing one of the students in the Asian Academy of Arts where the characters played by Barbie Forteza and Francis Magundayao attend classes.
We learned, prior to the screening of the movie at The Block at SM North Edsa, that she is the daughter of former ’80s sexy star Maureen Mauricio. At Brasas, an eatery beside the cinemas at The Block, we had a brief chat with Sexy (that’s only her screen name), a 13-year old but can be mistaken for 16 because of her size.
“I really want to be in show business, “she told us. “I had been going with my mom to her tapings for her shows (mostly on GMA Network) and I felt I wanted to be like her.”
#ewankosau Saranghaeyo is her screen debut.
As to her size, she said that perhaps she could use it to clinch roles. She said she wasn’t dreaming to play lead roles. She would be happy to play supporting roles, like the role she played in the movie.
Well, we hope producers see her as a potential addition to the roster of supporting players in the movies and television.
