MCA Music artists went home triumphant at the recently concluded Awit Awards with heartthrob crooner Paolo Onesa bagging two awards—Best Performance by A Male Recording Artist and Best Performance by A New Male Recording Artist both for the song “Lucky In Love.” The song was included in Paolo’s debut album Pop Goes Standards. It was also a bonus track on The Voice of the Philippines The Final 4 album released by MCA Music.
“This is such a blessing for me. I never expected to win considering the caliber of this year’s nominees,” said the proud Zamboangueno.
He is currently a mainstay of the ABS-CBN show Singing Bee and managed by MCA Music and Star Magic. Onesa will release his new single off his album Pop Goes Standards this January.
Other winners were: “To Survive” by Franco—Best Rock/Alternative Recording, “Taldawa” by Edward and “Abe Pakakalale” by Andy Alviz—Best Regional Recording and Urbandub’s “Never Will I Forget” (Eric Perlas and Macoy Manuel)—Best Engineered Recording.
