‘Voltes V: Legacy’ cast unveiledDuring its 2021 New Year countdown, GMA Network unveiled the full-animated teaser of Voltes V: Legacy making local fans overly excited about the reimagination of the hit anime series about the intergalactic robot. The original series had a successful run in the Philippines during the late ‘70s.

Voltes V, along with Mazinger Z, Daimos, Mekanda Robot, and UFO Grendizer, dominated the ratings game during its peak. That is why the public is very curious as to how the Kapuso network will reboot the unforgettable anime series.

Voltes V has an explosive plot about the war between earthlings and the Boazanian forces, the search of three brothers of their missing father, and the bloodline between brothers separated by their opposing worlds.

‘Voltes V: Legacy’ cast unveiled
GMA has unveiled the complete cast of ‘Voltes V:Legacy,’ the live-action television adaptation of the Japanese anime series, led by Miguel Tanfelix.
To end the suspense as to who will portray the plum roles in the re-boot, GMA recently announced some of the actors who grabbed the parts.

To play Steve Armstrong is Miguel Tanfelix. He is the leader of the Voltes team and pilots the Volt Crewzer. Breathing life to Mark Gordon is StarStruck alumnus Radson Flores. Mark is a rodeo champion and pilots the Volt Bomber. Matt Lozano, the champion of GMA’s “Spogify” singing contest in Eat Bulaga in 2016 landed the role of Big Bert Amstrong, the Voltes’ team defense tactician who is adept in hand-to-hand combat. He pilots the Volt Panzer.

Meanwhile, playing Little Jon Armstrong is child actor Raphael Landicho whose TV credits include, Love of My Life, Tadhana and Bihag. He is the youngest of the Voltes team and is a genius inventor. He pilots Volt Frigate. Newcomer Ysabel Ortega will be Jamie Robinson, the only female member of the Voltes team. An excellent martial artist, she pilots Volt Lander.

As for the main antagonists, critically-acclaimed actor Martin del Rosario gets to play Prince Zardoz, the leader of the Boazanian group whose main goal is to conquer the earth. Interestingly, this confirms the public’s guess after he recently posted one of the teasers of the upcoming show on his social media account.

Actress Liezel Lopez will breathe life into the role of Zandra, a member of the Boazanian force who is secretly in love with Prince Zardoz. Apart from this program, Liezel also appears in the afternoon drama Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat top-billed by Pauline Mendoza, Carmina Villaroel, John Estrada, and Tanya Garcia.

For the character of Zuhl, advisor and major aide of Prince Zardoz, veteran actor Epy Quizon is tapped to portray it. Another loyal ally of Prince Zardoz is Draco and this will be given life by Carlo Gonzalez. The former was last seen in TV 5’s Wanted: Ang Serye and the iWant TFC series Loving Emily. Meanwhile, the latter’s last TV credit was the remake of Descendants of the Sun starring Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado.

Able character actors Gabby Eigenmann and Neil Ryan Sese also nabbed important roles. The former will play Commander Robinson, Jamie’s father and is the head of the earth’s defense team against the Boazanian force while the latter breathes life to the character of Dr. Hook, the commander of Camp Big Falcon which is the home base of Voltes V. Both actors are happy to be included in the ambitious show saying that as kids, they’re fans of the famous robot.
