I dream to become a housewife – Julia Barreto

In a recent podcast, Julia Barretto revealed that personally, she wants to have a family at an early age. The 23-year-old actress admitted that she’s always dreamt of having a family early on in life.

“That was always my thing growing up. I always wanted to have a family at a young age because I want to have a lot of time and I want to grow together with the family that I’ve made,” she explains.

BOSS-HOUSEWIFE. Actress Julia Barretto admits that she dreams of becoming a housewife at an early age.

Although she intends to be a young homemaker, Julia would still want to pursue her career as an actress and be successful at it.

“Married life is not an easy task. While I dream to become a housewife, it’s also nice if I become one who’s independent. Like, you’ve got your own work going on, but your number one priority is your family.”

Julia is happy with the fact that in her generation, men have high regard and respect for women and their accomplishments.

“I’m so proud of this generation because you see more men and husbands for that matter praising their partners. Because they get to witness in their everyday lives, how challenging it is to be a homemaker, a wife, and a mom all at the same time. It’s not that easy taking care of your husband, children, and home simultaneously. Then, you also have to take care of yourself,” she says.

“So, I feel like we’re in a time now when men and everybody else are more appreciative of the efforts given by women. They already see their true value now. They see it more and understand it more now how difficult a job being a homemaker is,” she ends.

Former Tacloban City Mayor Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez reactivates her showbiz career as she recently signed up with Viva.

“I really missed show business. It’s just that before, I was living in Tacloban. I lived there for almost 15 years. I served there as a councilor then eventually mayor. I was really busy I didn’t have time for the ‘biz,” she states adding that she’s excited about such development and that Viva’s offer came just in time.

“I’ve known Boss Vic (del Rosario) for many, many years. I’ve worked with him in the past as well as his daughter Veronique so you see, it’s something that I can’t refuse,” she admits.

What’s in showbiz that makes her come back to it again?

“Showbiz keeps me happy and excited. I guess, at this point, I need to relax and do something which I simply enjoy. I remember the good old days and I can say I really loved my work here. So now, I’m just thrilled to be back,” she related.

Back in the ‘90s, Cristina was one of the country’s top sex symbols. Some of her potboilers that made a killing at the tills were Nang Gabing Mamulat si EbaAng Katawan ni Sofia, and Bad Girl.

She was also a sought-after leading lady to A-1 actors like Robin Padilla, Cesar Montano, Aga Muhlach, and Richard Gomez

Looking back at her heydays, the still alluring actress reveals that there were some projects then which she regretted doing.

“There were roles which I didn’t really like to do and I was just forced to accept them. Of course, I was young during those times. When you’re young, you’re in for the competition, right? Your goal is for your career to become successful,” she says.

“And one more thing, that was the trend then. But whatever it is, along the way, I learned from it. I learned a lot and met so many people. As a whole though, I have no regrets,” she carries on.

Is she still open to doing kissing and intimate scenes?

“It’s just okay if I play mother to young and beautiful actresses. I’m not really that choosy. Kissing scenes? No, obviously, at my age, I don’t think that’s needed. I don’t think that’s my line,” she says in jest.

Interestingly, how did her family (husband Alfred Romuladez who is Tacloban City Mayor, and daughters Sofia and Diana) react to her showbiz comeback?

“Actually, it’s my own decision. I didn’t ask permission from them. They don’t meddle with the decisions I make anyway. I don’t think there’s a problem with that,” ends Cristina.
