In a recent digital conference, Enchong Dee said that he understands fellow Kapamilya talents who opted to accept job offers from other networks. He stated that he can’t blame them for simply looking for jobs.
“They need to work in order to earn. A lot of my contemporaries are breadwinners. Considering the shutdown of ABS-CBN and the difficulties brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, you can’t take it against them if they do projects for other TV stations,” he related.
It is public knowledge that at present, many Kapamilya stars can be seen appearing in shows produced by other networks, particularly, TV 5. Some of these stars include Piolo Pascual, Maja Salvador, Catriona Gray, Billy Crawford, Jake Cuenca, Ian Veneracion, Dimples Romana, Alex Gonzaga, Pokwang, Ria Atayde, Beauty Gonzales, Miles Ocampo, and Maris Racal.
Meanwhile, some also decided to leave Star Magic like Julia Barretto and McCoy de Leon who recently inked a contract with Viva Artists Agency. Bea Alonzo has also sought new management after 19 years with the Kapamilya’s talent management arm.
As for Enchong, he still remains loyal to ABS-CBN.
“Yes, for 15 years! But actually, during these critical times, I’ve realized that you can’t measure loyalty by staying in your mother studio. As I’ve said, times are hard and everybody needs to earn a living. It just so happened that I was able to prepare before the pandemic hit.”

Former ‘The Voice Kids’ champ now with Viva
Remember Lyca Gairanod? She was adjudged as the grand champion in the maiden season of The Voice Kids Philippines way back in 2014 in which pop star royalty Sarah Geronimo served as her mentor.
Interestingly, the 16-year-old singer is the latest talent of Viva Artists Agency as she recently inked a contract with them. She and Sarah are under one stable now.
“Actually, Coach Sarah and I are communicating. We update each other about the latest happenings in our respective lives. She was the one who told me that if I want to move to Viva, I should just let her know. I thought that it would be a huge opportunity for me especially when she said that she wants to include me in her future concerts,” she revealed in a recent virtual press conference.
Lyca is happy with her decision.
“I’m glad that Coach Sarah and I are together in Viva. I’m confident that VAA will really boost my showbiz career.”
The teen singer promises to do her best now that she’s officially a Viva talent.
“I want to show them who I really am. I feel positive that my career will soar higher here in Viva. I vow to give my best this time. I dream of doing many things for my showbiz career. I know that my home studio will help me become successful as a singer, dancer, and actress,” averred Lyca.
