In the recent digital press event for the special Love Unlock: E-numan, Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia revealed that despite their breakup, their friendship remains intact until now.

“It’s good that we really chose to save the friendship. Even if we failed as lovers, we didn’t let it hinder us from continuing our friendship. We don’t want to put everything into waste,” Julia told reporters.

JoshLia has always been connected
Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, otherwise known as JoshLia, reunited in a digital short film shot while they were in quarantine.

“We have so many good memories together. We were good friends before we became lovers. So, we just wanted to go back to that and save the friendship,” she added.

That friendship is one strong foundation when they started out as a love team until they fell for each other. It also paved the way for them to get over the pain brought about by their split-up in the middle of 2019.

“We were able to work at peace. I’m simply grateful that the times were kind and permitted Joshua and I to mature in the process,” she relayed.

On Joshua’s part, on the other hand, there’s no awkwardness whatsoever between him and his onscreen partner.

“Since we parted ways, we didn’t lose connection with each other. Like, we constantly text each other. In fact, I dropped by at Julia’s house a couple of times. We have moments like that. Perhaps, people thought that because our relationship didn’t turn out as expected, we would avoid each other. On the contrary, we remained friends,” the young actor pointed out.

For the two popular young stars, what’s important is that they’re friends.

“We can tease each other. It’s so nice to have that. We think being good friends and being at peace with each other is the reason why we’re in a very good place right now. We’re really good friends,” the two ended.

After a two-year hiatus, Diego Loyzaga decided to return to the ‘biz. He is now being handled by Viva Artists Agency.

“I had lots of realizations when I was on vacation, so to speak,” he said.

“For the first time in my life, I put myself first. When we were young, I guess, we were asked hypothetical questions like, where do you want to see yourself in the next five or ten years? That’s what I did when I was on break. I made some soul-searching. I reflected on what’s the next big decision I’ll do in my life or where will its next chapter carry me. So, there were really a lot of realizations along the way,” Diego related.

It 2018, it was reported that he was rushed to the hospital although there was no official statement from his camp as to the reason why. During those times, he was part of the Kapamilya drama series Los Bastardos. He wasn’t able to go back to the taping of the said show until his character was killed in the story. That signaled Diego’s break from the ‘biz.

But now, he’s going back to his passion which is acting. Many just ask why he’s doing it at a time when there’s a pandemic that has directly hit the showbiz industry.

“I wanted an earlier comeback, but given all the circumstances that 2020 has brought us, what better time than now? Of course, I thought that things out there are not getting better, but if there’s a way in which you can still be productive,” he expressed.

Clearly, maturity becomes Diego.

“Everything that has happened to me, I think that’s part and parcel of life. All of us experience heartache, meets difficulties in our jobs, and faces tough challenges. Sometimes, we’re ready, sometimes we aren’t. But it doesn’t mean that you have to quit your day job and just live a simple life. Of course, I’m not saying that I don’t want a simple life. I can still live it even if I’m doing showbiz. It still depends on you since it’s you who manipulates your life,” he said.
