At this point, many are curious to know as to Vice Ganda’s present relationship with the family of his boyfriend Ion Perez. The couple had been together for more than a year already.

In a recent interview, the TV host and comedian shared that they are open to their respective families regarding their relationship.

“In fact, both our moms are on speaking terms. They converse with each other. My mom personally made a visit to Tarlac where Ion’s family lives. She ate ‘kakanin’ with Ion’s mother. When it comes to his siblings, I would admit that I’m not close to all of them but I’ve already met and talked to them and we’re okay,” he said.

Checking the timeline of his relationship with Ion, it can be remembered that the box-office star officially confirmed their romance on the tenth-anniversary celebration of It’s Showtime in October where the two of them are mainstays.

Prior to this, a photo circulated on social media sometime in July of last year in which he and Ion posed together with their respective moms.

LOVEBIRDS. TV host and comedian Vice Ganda is now very open with his 14-month love affair with male pageant winner and 'It's Showtime' co-host Ion Perez

Now that the two are on their 14th month together and can talk freely about their relationship, people are curiously asking what stopped them before from admitting about their romantic state to the public.

“It’s because I wanted to protect Ion’s family. First of all, they’re not showbiz. They are the typical Filipino family—simple yet full of happiness. I’ve witnessed it myself because I visited their home,” he explained.

“I’ve met all his siblings and they’re happy people. That’s really one of the main reasons why I decided to just keep quiet back then. I opted to keep things to myself and didn’t talk about it right away in the open. When you love someone, you protect those who are dear to him.”

Vice, who headlines the top-grossing 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival entry The Mall, The Merrier stated that he and Ion are not just thinking of themselves.

“When people from outside start invading their personal life, definitely, I won’t be happy with it. Of course, I’m after their welfare especially that I’ve seen and felt their acceptance.”

“I don’t want that their personal privacy would get affected just because of the happiness Ion and I feel. That would be very selfish of us. I only want the best for his family because apart from their kindness, I’m very grateful that they also love me,” he ended.
