How was the transition? Did he have any difficulty in the process?

“Actually, it was a smooth one. I don’t deny the fact that I owe ABS-CBN a lot because I’ve been with them for five years straight. During my stay with them, I was able to build close relationships with lots of people. It’s good that when I expressed my decision to them, that I wanted to do more, they saw my point and even wished me luck in my new venture.”

Looking back, the good-looking lad understood if Star Magic hasn’t given him enough projects when he was still under contract with them.

“I’m aware of the fact that they have lots of talents in their stable. They have to attend to each one of us and it’s impossible to include everyone in all of their programs. I realized this so I thought of another game plan and that is to change and go to a new management which can give my career the boost it needs!”

Just like any normal talent who switched management, Marco reveals he also had initial fears of not getting the projects he wanted to have.

“I was very hesitant to move to a new management. In fact, my former handler in Star Magic asked why I decided to leave when I’m inside the network already. I said that I’ve been with them for five years and I’m thankful because I was able to create a name for myself during that period but it wasn’t really the career pace I dreamt.

He thought of trying new things and explore more possibilities which he could only achieve if I would transfer to new grounds.

“I expressed this sentiment to two of our bigwigs in Star Magic, Mr. Johnny Manahan and Ms. Mariol Alberto and I’m grateful that they understood my point. I’m happy with the fact that there’s no bad blood whatsoever between the two parties. Everything was in good fate,” he says.

Marco hopes that things will continue to be brighter for him this 2019.

“I’m happy with the positive developments in my career. I hope and pray that it continues that way. Personally, I believe that it should be slowly but surely. I don’t want an overnight popularity. I really dream to be given projects that would hone my acting skills to the hilt,” he ends.

Ken Chan is both happy and proud with the good feedback his afternoon soap My Special Tatay receives from television viewers.

“All of us in the production team are overwhelmed whenever we’ll learn of our daily ratings. We literally jump for joy because it’s worth all the efforts and hard work.”

Interestingly, the following the show has in social media is quite amazing.

“Imagine, the videos reach 7 million, 1 million, 2.3 million views. Wow! Through those numbers, we are able to entertain the viewing public. That’s what’s important for us: to bring a smile on their faces every time they watch the show. It feels good that you know you make many people happy.”

Apart from the entertainment aspect, Ken notes that he’s glad My Special Tatay becomes an instrument for viewers to understand those who have mild intellectual disability just like the character he portrays.

“ It’s also one of our main goals in the program and I’m glad that many get inspired by our story. It’s one great reward, really.”

Because of its good showing in the ratings chart, the afternoon tearjerker will have an extended run.

“That’s great news, isn’t it? We’re extended until 2019. It really feels good. Thank you for the support of our avid viewers,” says Ken.
