Kathryn in a film sans Daniel

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla don’t want to make a fuss about Sharon Cuneta’s recent Instagram post in which the Megastar said she’s certain she’ll love Kathryn as she’ll work with her in her upcoming movie opposite Richard Gomez titled, Three Words to Forever, but the tandem of Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto is irreplaceable in her heart.

Such statement displeased KathNiel supporters which prompted them to engage in a verbal tussle against Sharon’s fans on social media.

“I don’t think that was Ms. Sharon’s intention,” avers Kathryn. “Actually, when she posted her message on Instagram, I was like, ‘Oh my God! Is this legit?’ On the contrary, I’m happy that I’ll be working with her. It’s such a huge honor.

Kathryn in a film sans Daniel
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla star in “The Hows of Us,” a light drama that tries to find the reasons a couple in love should stay together despite the hurdles that real life presents.

“When it comes to her statement, I guess it’s just normal that you won’t easily forget the people who became close to you in a project just because you’re currently working with someone new. It’s no big deal for me, really. What matters is that Ms. Sharon is open to accept me in her heart as well. It means so much that she allowed me to know her better now that we’ll be doing a project together.”

To this, Daniel totally agrees.

“It’s understandable if Ms. Sharon gives courtesy to Joshua and Julia. They’ve worked together first in ‘Unexpectedly Yours’. The good thing is, despite her love for JoshLia, she also embraces Kathryn into her fold,” he says.

Meanwhile, their currently showing film The Hows of Us is a certified blockbuster, which adds another feather into their cap as one of the country’s top love teams.

“We’re grateful for the public’s very warm reception of the movie. It’s really one challenging project. We’re glad the viewers liked its difference from all our other offerings. The fans can expect that there will always be something new in every potboiler we make,” the two say in unison.

Interestingly, since Kathryn is doing Three Words to Forever sans Daniel, is she open to the possibility that eventually, they will get paired with other actors?

“You know, I see nothing wrong with it,” she states. “It’s inevitable. I think it will be beneficial to our respective career. It will be good to our craft as actors. But that doesn’t mean that our love team will be abolished or what. Of course, KathNiel remains solid!”

If Kathryn will be busy shooting a film, Daniel, on his part, will have his hands full preparing for his gig at the Bog Dome this coming October titled, “Back at the Araneta.”

“That’s right! After The Hows of Us, all my attention will be directed towards this. It’s been three years since my last concert so it’s exciting to perform on stage once again. As of now, I still have no idea as to how the show will turn out. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the public will support it,” he ends.

According to Ritz Azul, she’s happy for her former Star Factor batch mates Eula Caballero and Christian Samson who got married last year and presently reside in the United States.

“Eula and I are still in contact until now and I’m happy that she’s now leading the life she really wanted since the beginning. Even during our TV 5 days, she’d always speak about the simple life she wants to lead in the future together with the love of her life. It’s nice that she was able to fulfill her dream,” she says.

It’s a fact that she is among the few Kapatid stars who are still active in the scene these days since the station’s closure of its entertainment department a few years ago. How does it feel?

“Maybe, we all took different paths already. I can only speak for myself, but I’m happy with what I chose. I just miss those times when we were all together, but as they say, that’s life.”

She has a new movie coming out opposite Pepe Herrera titled, The Hopeful Romantic under Regal Entertainment.

“Yes and I’m nervous since this is my maiden mainstream movie. I hope the public will patronize it,” states Ritz.
