After the highly successful Agimat ng Agila, Senator Bong Revilla, Jr. will soon be back on the small screen via an action-comedy series to be aired on GMA.

In a recent interview, Revilla revealed they are starting taping for the program next month and it is called Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis, which is based on the 1994 action-comedy film with the same title. It starred Revilla opposite his wife, Congresswoman Lani Mercado. It even had a sequel in 1997 titled, Yes Darling: Walang Matigas na Pulis 2.

“This early, I’m excited with the project which will air tentatively in June,” he states.

Will Lani be part of the show?

Viewers can again watch Senator Bong Revilla, Jr. on television through an upcoming action-comedy series

“No, she won’t be! Actually, I can’t divulge yet the identity of my leading lady here. Of course, she’s lovely. Let’s just wait for the official announcement of GMA,” he says.

“It’s like Agimat ng Agila but has elements of comedy. From what I know, it will air every Sunday,” Revilla adds.

Although this is good news to his fans who miss him terribly, the majority of them still prefer to see him daily on the small screen.

“It will be difficult for me at this point since I’m also juggling my time in the Senate. But I’m certain that I will be able to do that before I retire,” he promises.

Film buffs miss his presence at the annual Metro Manila Film Festival. Does he have plans of fielding an entry this year?

“Honestly, I’m thinking of that. There’s still time I guess. Let’s see. I don’t want to compromise my duties as a politician. But I miss the December film festival. That’s for sure,” ends the actor-politician.

Television personality Amy Perez admits that she was offered to host the TV 5 show Face to Face once again but insists that talks circulating that she refused to accept it are not true.

“Actually, it’s not that I don’t like it,” she avers. “It’s only that I can’t leave ABS-CBN just like that since they’ve been very good to me. Even if they lost their franchise and the pandemic struck, they still gave me shows. I never got vacant.”

Perez states that she’s very thankful to the Kapamilya despite not having an exclusive contract with the media company.

“I respect and value the fact that they never made me jobless. I’m simply grateful for that and I can say I’m happy and contented where I am right now. I don’t want to shake the boat, so to speak.”

She is the original host of Face to Face. Just in case, won’t she regret missing the opportunity to host it once again?

“Well, I’ve done it in the past so I think it’s time for a new host to step in, and perhaps, they’ll have a new flavor to offer the viewing public. Besides, my former co-host Hans (Mortel) is already gone. I don’t think I can do it once again without him.” The program, which is now titled, Face 2 Face will feature Karla Estrada as the main host. Comedian Alex Calleja will serve as her co-host. Interestingly, Perez reveals that Estrada called and saw her personally to inform her about the development.

“I really appreciate her for such a humble act, the love and respect she gave me. Personally, I don’t think that such was needed but I’m touched by her gesture,” says Amy.
