In a recent interview, newbie actor Teejay Marquez expressed his happiness over the positive feedback he is getting for his role in Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss, which top-bills Bianca Umali, Kelvin Miranda, and Ken Chan.

In this GMA series, Teejay plays his first contravida role.

“I’m glad that the general public likes my performance. In fact, when I’m outside, many would approach me, especially those who don’t really know me, and say they’re angry at me. Many television viewers also hate me. But for my fans, they tell me they still love me despite my bad character in the show. I’m just pleased with this development as it is proof that I’m effective in my portrayal,” he averred.

However, there is one thing that audiences notice about him on TV, especially the way he speaks.

Teejay Marquez

“They say I’m nasal-sounding like I have colds all the time. As of now, that’s the area where I’m trying to improve. When I’m on the set, I try to modulate my voice so that it will sound different. Normally, I’m still nasal-sounding but in front of the cameras, I try to change it.”

Teejay is happy to announce that their program is extended until June.

“From what I heard, we got extended for two weeks more because of our consistently high ratings. That’s why all of us in the production are happy,” he said.

Apart from Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss, Teejay is also starring in G! LU (Go! La Union) where he shares stellar billing with Ruru Madrid, Derrick Monasterio, David Licauco, Enzo Pineda, and Kiko Estrada.

Then, there’s this Joel Lamangan-helmed Ang Huling Baklang Birhen sa Lupa where Christian Bables was the original choice for the titular role. According to the be-dimpled actor, he is happy that the multi-awarded director liked his interpretation of the role.

“I was asked before if it was just okay that Christian was the original choice. I told them it’s just fine with me. I’m thankful that the role eventually landed on my lap. I’m relieved that Direk Joel was pleased with my performance and he didn’t regret that he chose me as Christian’s replacement,” Teejay recalled.

Lastly, many are asking if the third season of the popular Pinoy Boy Love (BL) series Ben x Jim, which he and Jerome Ponce headline, will still push through.

“Well, I feel, it will still do. Our director (Easy Ferrer) is just busy and so am I with the soap. Maybe after ‘Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss’ we’ll be able to start on it,” ended Teejay.

Maja Salvador is grateful for the warm reception she gets from TV viewers these days because of her hosting stint in GMA’s longest-running noontime variety show Eat Bulaga.

The 4M group consists of (from left) Maja Salvador, MJ Lastimosa, Maine Mendoza, and Miles Ocampo

“All I can say is they’re all easy and fun to work with. They’ve accepted me with open arms. They’ve made me feel that I’m welcome. It’s really a pleasant experience,” Maja said alluding to the treatment she gets from the bosses, staff, and hosts including Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.

She hosts the dance segment “DC 2022” and so as “Bawal Judgmental” where she was able to form the group “4Ms” along with Maine Mendoza, MJ Lastimosa, and Miles Ocampo.
