Finally, Aldub fans and supporters will have the chance to watch Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza in a soap opera. The two will try to put their emotions to the “new” characters they describe as “ many can relate (to) and very real.”

“This is really our gift to them. More than anything else, it’s to entertain and make these supporters and fans happy kaya po ginawa namin ito,” said the very good looking Alden in a well-attended press con for Destined To Be Yours.

The show’s main subject is the power of destiny as love will prevail against all the obstacles lovers face.

GMA 7 executives admit that it took a while for this phenomenal love team to be given a teleserye “because we waited for this kind of material and timing. Hinog na hinog na sila kaya mas maganda at masarap nang panoorin.”

Their co-stars could only agree. Janice de Belen who plays mother to Maine simply said, “Nakakatuwa silang tingnan. Very sweet.” Boots Anson-Roa who worked with almost all the love teams in showbiz added, “Theirs is exceptional. Mararamdaman mo talaga yung maganda nilang foundation and it translates to something magical on screen. Masarap silang katrabaho.”

Destined To be Yours is expected to be among GMA 7’s best projects in years, if not the best as the said prized-love team is still very much in demand and among the most-sought after faces on TV.

Asked if she believes in ‘destiny,” Maine answered, “I will be lying to you if it didn’t occur to me if Alden is my destiny. Had it not (been) for him, I (sic) will not be here in showbiz. I could not enjoy this. Madalas ko po talagang tinatanong kung siya nga kaya ang nakatadhana for me.”

To which Alden retorted, “The same with me po. There are times that I also ask myself kung paano nga kung si Maine pala ang destiny ko? No one can ever tell. Basta kami po, in work man or outside our work, we see to it that our friendship and special bonding (sic) is there. The more that we work together and see each other, the more that we discover things about us. And that is a good thing po kasi mas nagiging totoo kami sa isa’t-isa.”

So, Aldub fans, shall we then see more real happenings in the set as their work goes on? Or will their characters in Destined To Be Yours soon to be their real selves?

We will all see when the teleserye begins on Feb. 27 after Encantadia on the Kapuso network’s Telebabad.

Hmmmm, a dear “ambusher” (read: spy, DPA, etc) related to us that this relatively new lady TV host who was once linked to another male TV host and actor, is the current apple of the eye of this top network executive?

Same source gushed that this network’s insiders had been long asking about the possible “backer” of this lady TV host whose rise to main “hosting” is as fast as a basketball going on three points.

Their eyebrows indeed were raised up to the roof because according to the same source, “She came from nowhere and she literally had bumped off and boxed out other ladies-in-waiting in that department. Kung hindi makapangyarihan o influential ang backer niyan, eh kakwestyun-kuwestyun ang talent, dahil waley!”

“Mabilis umasenso. Mainstream TV hosting agad. Parang hindi man lang dumaan sa kagayang mga training o experiences na pinagdaanan ng mga mas nauna sa kanya. And yes, nakakaloka siya dahil she is so flat. Halatang walang experience sa TV hosting,” observed our source.

The last clue given to us in a question manner was this: “Have you seen her mainstream baptism of fire on TV hosting? She could not even pronounce the words correctly and she obviously was just relying on her beauty (?) and maarteng pagsasalita, when she was given this task of being a host to a segment that talks about the future of this country.”

Shoot!!!
