Emmanuelle Vera: A Megan Young in-the-making

Singer and actress Emmanuelle Vera maybe treading the same path Megan Young took in her journey to the Miss World crown. The 26-year-old former Star Magic talent, is one of the 45 candidates in Miss World Philippines 2021 pageant.

Zoe Emmanuelle, a graduate of St. Paul College and Ateneo de Manila University, is a humanitarian, a different side of her that she has not really shown, choosing to do all her volunteer work in private.

A voracious a reader and eater, the Fil-Am beauty, is training under the Kagandahang Flores (KF) beauty camp. 

In a recent interview, Emmanuelle admitted that she suffered from bullying for being chubby, a traumatic experience that made her undergo an excruciating fitness program years ago. 

“Lately I’ve been obsessed with all things, health and wellness—from taking nutrition and exercise science courses online, to coming up with healthy recipes, to hunting for the best supplements. The positive effects of living a better quality of life have me fully hooked,” Emmanuelle posted on Instagram.

For her Miss World Philippines ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ advocacy, Emmanuelle is focusing on the platform to bring awareness on fighting online sexual exploitation of children.

As a singer-songwriter, Emmanuelle released her self-titled debut album under Universal Records Philippines in 2012 and joined the first season of The Voice Philippines in 2013 where she sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” that made Black Eyed Peas’s apl.de.ap turn his chair. She was part of the trio O Diva with Klarisse de Guzman and Liezel Garcia, mentored by KZ Tandingan, which won third place in We Love OPM Celebrity Sing-Offs in 2016.   

Also an aspiring actress, Emmanuelle was cast in numerous television shows on ABS-CBN starting in 2010 and made her debut appearance on GMA Network in 2018 in the drama series The Stepdaughters which starred Megan Young. She starred in the critically-acclaimed 2014 indie Nestor Abrogena’s Ang Kwento Nating Dalawa with Nicco Manalo and reprised her role in the 2019 hit sequel Tayo, Sa Huling Buwan ng Taon.
