Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez has returned to San Juan, Puerto Rico to resume her quest for the Miss World crown after being sent home in December together with the rest of the candidates when coronation was abruptly canceled by the Miss World Organization due to the threat of surging COVID-19 cases in the host Caribbean nation.
Perez, who’s turning 29 on March 23, was giving a good fight going to the finals after securing a Top 40 spot by winning the Head-to-Head and Beauty with a Purpose fastrack challenges. She could become the country’s only second Miss World when the 70th edition of the world’s oldest pageant concludes on March 16 (March 17, 8:00 a.m. Manila Time).
Two other co-Miss World Philippines reigning queens were to compete abroad with Fil-Aussie Kathleen Paton in Miss Eco International 2021 in Cairo, Egypt, also on March 17; and Fil-American Michelle Arceo vying in the inaugural Miss Environment International 2022 in Mumbai, India with the finals set on April 2.
“I am very confident of Tracy, Kathleen, and Michelle’s chances in their respective pageants,” said Miss World Philippines national director Arnold Vegafria who has come out with a rebrand new slogan “Exceptionally Empowered Filipina.”
Miss World Philippines has also announced the opening of application for the Miss World Philippines 2022 with the final screening scheduled on April 19 and coronation night on May 29.

Decorated toy poodle Baby Shamcey in GMA’s ‘The Best Ka!’
Baby Shamcey, the lovable, multi-titled toy poodle will be featured in the 3rd telecast of GMA Network’s newest hit comedy infotainment program, The Best Ka!, hosted by Mikael Daez.
The program brings the best and the most amazing feats set in the Guinness Book of World Records in the Philippines and abroad as well as remarkable success stories and achievements of Filipino individuals. On its pilot telecast last February 20, Daez was joined by his better half, Miss World 2013 Megan Young as special guest co-host.
Baby Shamcey won Miss UniFurs 2017 and Miss Pet Universe 2018 and was featured in ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kay Ganda ‘Miss Universe 2016’ episode, PTV-4’s Ulat Bayan Weekend and Jessica Soho’s TV show.
Named after Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner up Shamcey Supsup, Baby Shamcey has made a mark in pet fashion and costume competitions and has to her credit 44 grand prizes, 25 runners-up, and 32 special awards with more or less 300 wins along with her other four fur siblings.
