Gazini admonishes the youth to cherish precious time with grandparents

How would you like to own a portrait of Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Ganados?

The stunning Fil-Palestine beauty, wearing a white Cary Santiago gown, posed for a group of elderly artists to be painted, afterwards the portraits will be sold to the public and part of the proceeds will go to a charity of Ganados’ choice. The painting session held on Friday was part of the Araneta Center-Gazini Ganados team up during the Center’s celebration of Grandparents’ Day dubbed “Grand Hangout.”

An advocate for elderly care, Ganados bats for the interest and welfare of the old and senior citizens.

“My advice to the young who still have grandparents is to cherish the moment with them. Time is so precious, let’s show them our love and care while they’re still alive, so we won’t regret it in the future,” said Ganados.

The weekend “Grand Hangout” included a series of fun events to give lolos and lolas a time to relax and enjoy at the Center.  A chess tournament at Gateway Mall contested by 150 senior citizens was held by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines, where the winner was given a chance to match up with International Chess Master Chito Garma.

A grand ballroom party, in partnership with A. Dance Company, was also held with grandmas and grandpas danced to Salsa and Chacha beat. A Grand Symphonic Band gave free performance at Farmers Plaza, in cooperation with the Quezon City Tourism Department, while a medical group also provide free medical check-up.
