A lot of people pretend to be busy with trivial pursuits, and nonsensical things. Yet, they’re still able to arouse the curiosity of netizens who are currently pre-occupied with what is being paraded on various social media platforms.
And what does flash in the pan mean? It is a phrase that pertains to a thing or person whose sudden but brief success is not repeated or repeatable. Hence, it is akin to the famous line of the late great visual artist and maverick Andy Warhol, “Everyone will be famous for 15 minutes” springing to life.
If you are in the curious case of being considered and labeled as flash in the pan, your choice then is to milk these precious minutes dry and maximize the situation with the hope that what you created had an enormous impact on many people.

Of course, a handful, upsets your stomach, gives you migraine and are definite eyesores, most especially from political figures and esteemed officials who think that “cute” is an adjective that can be associated with their personas and to join in the TikTok bandwagon is the most natural thing that they must do. Please don’t make me name the worst example in this handful batch, I beg you.

The flamboyant fairy from Calbayog, Samar obviously wanting to become a gay beauty queen. The many photos of Camata, in everyday dresses, swimsuits, and manner of speaking and murdering the King’s language, are outright silly and guffaw eliciting.
Ericka gives a new spin to the “carabao English” of yore with her sunshiny confidence, outlandish outfits and styling, and her laughing at her own frolicsomeness, tickles the funny bones of his followers and seduces even the most cynical and jaded.
No guarantee and definite date as to when this quarantine season ends. As the days and nights go by, time ticks so fast even if we think it has slowed down. What is certain, somewhere on the social media stage and in real life, there will be more denizens and mischievousness that will come our way, to give us joy and kilig, laugh out loud occasions, even hope, and inspiration, in the maddening situation we are all experiencing.
Flash in the pan or flashes in many pans? I say, bring them all on!
