Kapuso actress Bianca Umali got to virtually bond with her fans from various parts of the country last June 18 as part of the opening salvo of GMA Regional TV’s weekly “Kapuso Fans Day on TV.” This was followed by the second edition last June 25 featuring Ang Dalawang Ikaw stars Ken Chan and Rita Daniela, with the next Kapuso Fans Day on TV to be bannered this Friday (July 2) by Tom Rodriguez of The World Between Us.
The Kapuso Fans Day on TV is one of the many surprises GMA Regional TV has prepared for its loyal viewers in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in this new normal. Every week, viewers in the regions can get the latest updates about their favorite Kapuso stars from the safety of their homes.
Airing every Friday at 8:00 a.m., the Kapuso Fans Day on TV is available on all GMA RTV channels via its morning shows: Mornings with GMA Regional TV in North Central Luzon, GMA Regional TV Live! in Central and Eastern Visayas, GMA Regional TV Early Edition in Western Visayas, and At Home with GMA Regional TV in Mindanao.
In its first edition, Bianca thanked her fans for their continued support and shared the latest updates about her. And while the pandemic has kept her from visiting her fans in the regions, the star of the upcoming primetime series Legal Wives is grateful that with the help of technology, she gets to connect with her fans virtually.
“Nakakalungkot sa totoo lang, na ganito na po ang ating mga fanmeet ngayon. But I am still hoping and looking forward to better days. As of now, I'm still adjusting, and I hope everyone is adjusting as well. Di man po madali but I hope and pray that someday we will be back to our old normal,” the Kapuso actress shared in her interview with GMA Regional TV Live!’s Cecile Quibod-Castro.
She said that her fans here and abroad continue to be her inspiration and source of strength. “Isa sa mga top na nagpapangiti sa akin ay kayong mga sumusuporta sa akin. What scares me the most ay mawalan ng mga taong mahal ko at kasama na kayo doon,” she added.
In the upcoming cultural drama series Legal Wives, Bianca takes on the character of Farrah, a young Muslim woman who becomes the third wife of a wealthy Mranaw man. She will be joining Dennis Trillo, Alice Dixson, and Andrea Torres, among others. She admitted that it is a difficult role to play but it’s something she looks forward to sharing with the viewers.
“The challenge for me is being a married woman and being the third and youngest wife in the story. This, by far, is the most mature role that I have portrayed, and I am excited about it,” Bianca said.
“While challenging times restrict us from physically convening the way we used to, we at GMA Regional TV are committed to providing our Kapuso in the regions the same quality of fan service and entertainment we used to give them before,” said First Vice President and Head of GMA Regional TV and Synergy Oliver Victor Amoroso.
The Kapuso Fans Day on TV is also part of the celebration of GMA Network’s 71st anniversary.
