Comedienne and television actress Kakai Bautista is on a mission to break stereotypes and spread body positivity.
In her latest Instagram post, Kakai flaunted her unbothered bikini picture in response to body shamers.
“Happiness is embracing the ugliness and the beauty. The imperfection and perfections. Thick or thin, you are gold,” she wrote in her caption.
From the actress’s Instagram posts, she shared how she had to deal with comments of people criticizing her physical appearance. With this, she made a conscious effort to defend not only herself but also other people who might be facing the same situation.
The actress emphasized that this toxic Filipino culture of declaring “chubby is not sexy and healthy” should stop as people have their own choice towards their body and should respect it.
She elaborated that being chubby does not portray that a person has an unhealthy lifestyle and being “morena” is not equivalent to ugliness.
“Iksi ng buhay, wag mong pakialaman ang buhay ng iba. Pakialamanan mo yung sayo. Gawin mong maganda, masaya, at kapaki-pakinabang,” she said noting that people should just mind their own business and let others enjoy their own life.
Kakai proudly expressed that even though bashers judge her physical appearance, she will still accept herself for who she is.
“I am enjoying every bit of what I am now and every second of my life,” she said.
Kakai’s Instagram posts about body empowerment were supported by her co-artists as they applauded how the actress has continued to address this matter while dealing with hate comments at the same time.
They also encouraged the comedienne to continue what she’s doing.
“Lahat tayo may kanya kanyang ganda! Pero ang mahalaga yung ganda ng kalooban. And you are beautiful inside and out tyang,” Sanya Lopez, one of Kakai’s co-artist, commented on her post.
The actress had experienced judgment regarding her appearance as she was pointed out because of her dental features. Instead of being affected by this, Kakai embraced these comments and accepted the moniker given to her as the “dental diva”.
