South Korean actor Park Seo Joon is reportedly joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the upcoming film ‘The Marvels.’

On June 15, several news outlets reported that Park Seo Joon has been offered a role in the second installment of MCU’s ‘Captain Marvel’ entitled ‘The Marvels’ starring Brie Larson. The reports added that the Hallyu star is scheduled to leave for the United States to begin filming for ‘The Marvels’ by the second half of the year as soon as he concludes filming for his upcoming movie, Concrete Utopia.

Park Seo Joon’s agency Awesome ENT has not made any official comment on the rumor.

The Marvels director, Nia DaCosta, had her eyes set on Park Seo Joon after watching his hyped Korean drama ‘Itaewon Class’ in 2020.

DaCosta drew attention by fangirling over the handsome actor on her now-deactivated Twitter account and even went as far as calling him “her new drama boyfriend” in a screenshot of her conversation with a friend.

The superhero film is considered monumental and “huge” for the South Korean actor as his role not only adds diversity to the cast but it will also mark his debut in Hollywood.

Park is going to join the roster of Korean actors in the MCU including Claudia Kim and ‘Train to Busan’ star Ma Dong-Seok.

The South Korean actor is best known for his roles in K-drama shows Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, Fight for My Way, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Itaewon Class.

‘The Marvels’ is included in Phase Four of the MCU and is scheduled to be released on Nov. 11, 2022.
