Actress Angel Locsin and fiancé Neil Arce have donated P1 million to Baguio City for its procurement of COVID-19 vaccines.

In a social media post on Baguio City’s Public Information Office Facebook page, the city extended its gratitude to the couple who made the donation through their Shop and Share initiative.

“We would like to thank the generosity extended by the Shop & Share Initiative through the efforts of Mr. Neil Arce and Ms. Angel Locsin. The foundation was able to source out donations for the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines for Baguio City,” the post said.

Initially launched in 2009, Shop and Share was founded by Locsin with fellow actress Anne Curtis to help the victims of Typhoon Ondoy.

After raising almost P11 million through her #UniTentWeStandPH campaign that provided more than 28 hospitals with tents during the height of the pandemic, Locsin decided to revive the Shop and Share fundraising initiative to provide COVID-19 test kits to Filipinos in need. It was able to raise P700,000 on its first day.

Among the celebrities who helped Locsin and Arce raise P1 million for Baguio City’s COVID-19 vaccination effort were Miss Universe winners Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray, Kapamilya stars Liza Soberano, Kathryn Bernardo, Maymay Entrata, Kim Chiu, Dimples Romana, Regine Velasquez, and Vice Ganda, and Kapuso artists Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, and Solenn Heusaff, among others.
