Actress Kris Bernal is definitely one of GMA’s prized talents. After winning in the fourth season of the popular reality show StarStruck, her star started to shine brightly as her mother studio gave her a string of hit programs like Little Nanay, Asawa Ko Karibal Ko,  and Hanggang sa Dulo ng Buhay Ko, to name a few.

However, after 13 years, the petite actress is no longer an exclusive talent of the GMA Artist Center. This, she revealed in her latest vlog in which she featured scenes of her recent guest stint in the new TV 5 talk show Chika BESH hosted by Pauleen Luna, Pokwang, and Ria Atayde. The video became an avenue for the fans to ask questions like how was she able to guest on TV 5 when everybody knows she’s with GMA.

After revealing that her contract with GMA Network has expired, Kris Bernal said that she is open to any possibilities with her career.
After revealing that her contract with GMA Network has expired, Kris Bernal said that she is open to any possibilities with her career.

“My contract with the Kapuso actually expired during this pandemic. Currently, I’m a freelancer. My services are no longer exclusive to GMA. For this TV 5 guesting though, I still asked permission from my bosses and fortunately, they allowed me. I won’t do this if somebody will get hurt,” she said.

Is she looking for a new business manager?

“Yes. I’m in search of one. I’m studying carefully whom I’m going to tap if ever.”

Hasn’t GMA offered her a contract renewal?

“Honestly, I haven’t received an offer from them yet. Although they still get me to appear in some of their programs like Tadhana and Wish Ko Lang. I understand that things are still uncertain at this point. If there’s still no final decision on their end, it’s okay. As I’ve said, I fully understand,” she admitted.

“I guess there are still bigger issues to attend to than this. Ha-ha-ha! I’m just glad that the management still taps my services. That’s what’s important. Work is work and I will accept it,” she added.

Kris points out that for the record, she never had any disagreement with her mother studio since she started in 2006.

“I can’t remember one! I’ve been very professional in my dealing with them and is always cooperative.”

Many are curious if she would eventually leave GMA and move to another network.

“Of course, I deeply value them. I practically grew up with the station. They are responsible for the big breaks I had to reach my present stature. They honed my acting craft. They supported my passion. I’m thankful that they have faith in me,” she said.
