Actor Domingo "Menggie" Cobarrubias died Thursday morning, March 26, due to complications from pneumonia. He was 68.
The veteran actor and emcee, whose career spanned more than three decades, was confined at the Asian Hospital in Alabang where he expired at 8:20 a.m.. He was tested for the COVID-19 but his family is yet to get the results.
Prior to his COVID-19 test, friends close to the actor said that he was already in critical condition.
Cobarrubias was last seen in GMA’s ongoing series Beautiful Justice, where he played President Ricardo San Jose. He was also in ABS-CBN’s The Killer Bride. Some of his recent films were Eerie (2018) and Signal Rock (2018),
He won the 2014 Best Actor in QCinema International Film Festival award for Mauban: Ang Resiko, and the 1980 Urian Best Supporting Actor award for Jaguar.
Last night, Cobarrubias posted “Goodbye” on his Facebook account.
