TV host Luis Manzano thanked his supporters following his loss in the vice gubernatorial race in Batangas, saying he still considers himself a winner because of the support he received during the campaign.
In a statement posted on social media on Wednesday, May 14, Luis said the experience brought him closer to the people of Batangas despite the election results.
Luis also expressed his gratitude to his family, campaign team, and supporters, and credited his faith for guiding him throughout the process.
The actor added that his campaign was only the beginning of a long-term connection with Batangueños.
Luis lost to outgoing Governor Hermilando Mandanas, who was proclaimed as the new vice governor of Batangas on Tuesday, May 13.
His mother, former Batangas governor and actress Vilma Santos, won the gubernatorial race, while his younger brother, Ryan Christian Recto, was elected as representative of Batangas’ 6th District.
