Chef and content creator Abi Marquez accepted world-class chef and restaurateur Gordon Ramsay’s challenge to recreate his iconic Beef Wellington as a lumpia.
In an Instagram post, Marquez is seen alongside Ramsay, who playfully recreated his famous “idiot sandwich” pose with her. Meanwhile, Marquez holds a lumpia wrapped in Beef Wellington, a nod to the chef’s challenge to her.
In a separate post, the Lumpia Queen shared what happened during her interaction with Ramsay.
“WILL CHEF APPROVE? BEEF WELLINGTON LUMPIA, coming right up,” she wrote.
Upon meeting, Ramsay told Marquez, “Abi! Do I know you? The whole internet knows you. Can you do it?”
Marquez replied, “I’m here with the proof. Question is, is this better than yours?”
“Wow, that looks good,” he initially said.
As he tasted the lumpia, the chef said, “I’m really sorry. But I don’t like it. I f*cking love it,” making the content creator scream.
“That is a very, very posh spring roll. Delicious. May I have some more please,” he continued.
“I’m taking this away so no one can steal it,” Ramsay added, suggesting that a glass of wine would be a perfect match for his lumpia.
