GOT7 member BamBam returned to the Philippines after three years—and he made the most of it.

He first went to Cebu for a press conference and fan meeting last July 26, Wednesday. Aside from encountering new people on his trip, he also had the chance to sample local Filipino delicacies.

“I went to try bangus. Last night, I saw the city with a couple of friends, and they bought me sisig,” he shared.

The Thai singer and rapper said he loved bangus the best but also tried lechon and the Filipino staple, rice. However, BamBam admitted to having trouble adjusting to the spiciness of sisig.

For his TMI (too much information) during the Manila leg of his fan meeting, held last July 27, Thursday at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, BamBam opened up about excusing himself more than once.

“I already went to the restroom three times today. It was [really] spicy, so you know, I just keep letting go,” he said, making the audience laugh at how relatable he is.

BamBam hopes to return to the Philippines to hold a concert for his Filipino fans

Although BamBam was in the Philippines to perform in the K-pop Masterz concert, he hopes to return to tick off some experiences from his bucket list. Among them is going to a beach and night market in Manila and the country.

Sandara Park, a K-pop sensation and former local actress, even traveled from South Korea to the Philippines to give BamBam a taste of Philippine brews at Gerry’s Grill. She also performed at the K-pop Masterz concert.

Despite BamBam’s eagerness to meet his fans in Manila, K-pop idol or not, he wasn’t an exception from the metro’s dreaded traffic. “Manila!! I’m on my way!! So much traffic,” he tweeted.

Still, he felt happy with the warm welcome from Filipino fans, or AhGaSes as he calls them.

“I feel really good. I’ve been waiting to perform, and I’ve been waiting to meet up with you guys like this. I don’t know how I spent the last two years without meeting everyone and just being home with my cats. I’m really happy that everything came back to normal, almost,” he said.

The Thai musician debuted as a solo artist in 2021. He released his first mini album with the title track “riBBon” and followed it with another titled B, featuring the song “Who Are You,” which is a collaboration with Red Velvet’s SEULGI.

Filipino AhGaSes, however, hope to see BamBam collaborating with a local artist, the first being James Reid, who is frequently present on the Thai musician’s social media accounts.

“James? Oh yeah, I can do that. [Actually,] We’ve been talking about, ‘Oh, we should make a song.’ If I have the chance, I would be happy to [collaborate] with James,” he said.

BamBam loves the energy his fans, also known as AhGaSes, give him

At the moment, BamBam wants to focus on his solo career. He remains good friends with his band members from GOT7 but is continuously working on a new album with a distinct concept to give his fans something different.

“I hope I can have a concert in the Philippines again. I would bring a new album and songs to sing. I want to perform it for you guys,” he said.
