Seth Fedelin, 17, made waves this year as one of the teen housemates in the local edition of Big Brother. And after leaving the famous “residence” on Eugenio Lopez Drive, he landed a role in one of the top-rating and trending television soaps, Kadenang Ginto.
Relatively new in showbiz, Seth is already gaining prestige in the local acting community. While his character in the daily soap doesn’t require too much of his dramatic skills, he’s able to prove that he can raise the bar and portray a difficult role in a new project.
On Aug. 28, a psycho horror premiered on iWant. It has Seth and Kadenang Ginto co-star Beauty Gonzales playing the central characters.
Entitled Abandoned, the film is written and directed by Kip Oebanda, the writer-director of critically acclaimed films Liway, Nay, and Bar Boys. It is produced by Dreamscape Digital and Quantum Films.
The story follows Simone (Beauty), a struggling single mother who is trying to make ends meet for her son RJ (Seth). A bodyguard, she becomes crippled by guilt after abandoning her duty and choosing to live for her son while her colleagues get slaughtered in a robbery.
As a consequence, her boss handpicks her to replace the guard at an abandoned facility that used to be a hospital, which is rumored to be haunted by nurses and kids who were burned alive. As she begins her duty, she starts to hear voices and see images in the dark. It won’t be long until she finds out about the rumor surrounding the place —that it was burned down on purpose as an offering to the devil in exchange for financial or personal gain.
Soon after, the ghosts in the building haunt her during her shifts and even follow her home, negatively affecting her son whom she used to be close with and their relationship starts to show cracks.
The building’s supernatural forces prey on her past traumas and fears, forcing her to abandon her role as a mother and sacrifice her own son.
“I was so nervous when we were shooting the movie. But I had a strong support system. My co-stars and director motivated me to do my best,” Seth shared in an interview during the digital movie’s premiere.
After Abandoned, the teen star will again appear in another iWant movie set to stream on the popular platform in November. Seth will top bill Wild Little Love opposite screen partner Andrea Brillantes.
Wild Little Love will be directed by Benedict Mique and includes Carmina Villaroel, Alfred Vargas, Victor Neri, Jin Macapagal, and Criza Ta-a in the cast.
