Heartthrob Ruru Madrid looks forward to a bright music career as he recently inked a recording contract with GMA Music.
Present in the contract signing ceremony, which happened on July 10, were GMA Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, GMA Artist Center Senior Talent Manager Vic del Rosario, GMA Music Managing Director Rene Salta, and GMA Music A&R Manager Kedy Sanchez.
Apart from acting, singing also remains close to Ruru’s heart. Growing up in a family of musicians, it is no doubt he was influenced by his father in singing.
“I am very happy. Ever since I started in show business, it’s been my dream to have my own single. This is my first love and it warms my heart that my dream is slowly turning into reality,” he shared.
The Sunday PinaSaya mainstay will soon launch two singles under the label–“Nawawala” composed by Kettle Mata, Roger Alcantara, and Enzo Villegas, and ”Maghihintay” composed by Mark Atienza.
The GMA Artist Center star also confessed that he got emotional while recording the two songs as they mirror tough times in one’s life.
“Now I know what Pinoy listeners really want, they like ‘hugot’ songs. They like to listen to something that they can relate to, which is why the songs that we are going to release are ‘hugot’ songs. I, myself cry every time I sing them.”
GMA Music Managing Director Rene Salta has nothing but praises for the Kapuso actor, “He has a lot of potential as a singer that’s why we are proud to welcome him in the GMA Music family. He’s got this voice that this generation of listeners likes.”
Meanwhile, GMA Music also warmly welcomed Princess Velasco into its roster of talented musicians in a contract signing on July 10 attended by Rene Salta and Kedy Sanchez.
Dubbed as the OPM Acoustic Princess, she is delighted to be back to one of her passions—recording music.
“I’m very excited to make new music because I missed singing and I’m very happy that I was given an opportunity to work with GMA Music. The songs that we’re going to do are really close to my heart,” she said.
Princess took a break from her singing career to focus on her family. Now, the singer is back and is ready to serenade the listeners with her upcoming single “Konti Na Lang,” written by Noah Zuniga.
She quipped, “It’s very Pinoy and the lyric mirrors the ordinary life of our common folks. We want to achieve a lot of things but we don’t know how to make the first steps. Nakaka-inspire ‘yung pagkakasulat ng kanta at ‘yung melody, nakakaantig ng damdamin. I really loved it.”
Salta revealed that the listeners should watch out for Princess’ new songs, “We are happy that she signed up with us. We all know that she has an amazing voice that deserves to be heard. We are also looking forward to our future releases which will consist of original Filipino music.”
