Kids and the entire family are in for nothing but treats as Araneta Center celebrates “A Goosebumps Halloween” tomorrow at the Gateway Mall, Ali M, ll and Farmers Plaza.
While this time of the year is generally associated with scares, Araneta Center amps up the cuteness with child star Xia Vigor who will grace the festivities at the Gateway Mall.
One of the adorable judges in the hit ABS-CBN show The Kids’ Choice, Vigor is tipped to give her expert opinion as she will serve as one of the judges in Araneta Center’s Halloween costume contest. The 9-year-old Vigor, of course, knows a thing or two about playing dress up, having placed fifth in Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids, where she had to imitate the appearance and singing style of various singers.
Kids aged zero to 12 who wish to join the costume contest are encouraged to draw inspiration for their “spooky” look from the movie Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween. Distributed by Columbia Pictures Philippines, the sequel to the 2015 hit will be shown in the Gateway Mall Cineplex, Ali Mall Cineplex and other cinemas nationwide starting Oct. 31.
Cash prizes of up to P5,000 and other gifts are in store for the winners of the costume contest.
Aside from the costume contest, kid registrants will also be entitled to join the trick or treat around the malls and other side activities.
To register, one must just present a single receipt purchase worth P700 dated October 28 from any Araneta Center establishment. Registration starts at 11:00 a.m. .
Those who are not into ghost-hunting this season can bargain-hunt instead as Araneta Center will also hold a Halloween Sale from October 26 to 28. Shoppers will surely be spellbound by deals of up to 70 percent off in participating stores at the Gateway Mall, Ali Mall and Farmers Plaza.
The Araneta Center started its Halloween festivities last Oct. 13 and 14 with the “Hallowkiddies Film Fest,” featuring four exhilarating movies. Pets in their adorable get-ups then hogged the limelight on Oct. 21 in the “Pet Pals Howl-o-Ween Party” at the Ali Mall.
