“You got to be confident.”

Talking about his career as an NBA player, he swaggered that his whole career is the best part of playing hoops. Hardaway told the fans to be confident all the time and have a little arrogance in every game to get the highest potential.

“God gave me a gift,” said he.

He has had a great NBA experience playing in the various teams in the league. Growing up in the city of Chicago taught him a lot of lessons to play tough, fast, and slow.

Emphatically, he shared the difficulties of being a father and a coach at the same time. Good night sleep and learning from mistakes are the pieces of advice he always tells to his son, who is now following in his footsteps as an NBA player.

“I can’t show my emotions which is hard,” he confessed as it is hard for him to cheer his son especially in a play where their teams collide for a win.

Currently, Tim is an assistant coach of the Detroit Pistons while his son Tim Duane Hardaway Jr. is a player of the New York Knicks.

As a parent, his piece of advice to all the fathers and mothers is to let their children learn and don’t rush their path to knowledge and skills development.

“Let them come to you and ask you questions,” Hardaway stressed.

As the interview wrapping up, Hardaway gave a rule that applies even outside of the court.

“Always think and prepare ahead,” he said as he sees the rule as a game plan for life.

Moreover, Hardaway with NBA Champion Brian Scalabrine and the Detroit Pistons dunk team were part of the NBA 3X Philippines presented by AXA, which showcases a 3-on-3 game of men’s and women’s teams of all ages. It is a two-day event of music, entertainment, and live basketball action with DJ spinning to electrifying beats to delight the audience.

“With the popularity of basketball in the country, we at AXA Philippines aim to use this as a platform to spread the word to local NBA fans how essential it is to prepare early your game plan in life,” said AXA Philippines president and chief executive officer Rahul Hora.

AXA Philippines is one of the leading and fastest-growing life insurance companies in the Philippines. The company and the NBA are partners for winning game plans to reach out to more Filipino basketball fans.
