Apart from her hectic schedule shooting for her next project for the GMA Network, Carla Abellana is now the proud owner of a Posh Nails franchise, a business venture she calls a dream come true.

Carla Abellana is now a proud owner of Posh Nails business franchise

“I have always been a loyal client of Posh Nails. I was going there with my mom as our bonding time back when I was in high school when it was just starting out in its first branch at Greenhills. I even remember seeing owner Cat Ilacad there at the counter every time I went for my pampering treatments,” she smiles in recollection.

Even during those days, she promised herself that she would own a franchise someday.

“Natuwa lang ako with the concept, because it was the first of its kind in the country. Before, if you wanted your nails done, you did it in a beauty parlor or called a neighborhood manicurista for home service.”

She was enchanted with the pink and purple décor and the themed services that could not be found anywhere else and kept coming back even when showbiz beckoned.

When the opportunity came, she first became an ambassador for the homegrown brand and has now fully immersed herself in it by taking on a franchise. Carla first approached the possibility of becoming a franchisee two years ago but had to wait until she found the perfect spot for her business at the Level 3 Ayala Malls Feliz.

“We started construction last December 2017 and opened shop early this year on March 14,” she shares.

The business is doing well, she says. And she would know, as she was hands-on at her branch for the duration that she was in between projects.

“I have partnerships in other businesses. I am a co-owner of Holy Smokes in Poblacion, Makati and we also have an online business, but I am not fully involved in those. With my Posh Nails franchise, I am at the store, making sure that everything runs smoothly. Since there is no one else to delegate the work to, I am on top of everything, from Marketing to hiring, to customer service,” she says proudly.

She has regular clients, some of whom are fans who travel all the way from Makati, Laguna or Pampanga.

“I am so happy with the support that the fans have given, even when I am not there especially now that I am shooting my series, they still come over.”

The other large percentage of clients are those who come because they love to experience the Posh Nails brand of pampering.

“I made sure that we hired technicians who can provide the best customer service, especially since the market at my location in an Ayala mall is more upscale. We trained our staff to be polite and proactive and to provide the clients with really good service.”

She still loves getting her “mani-pedis” and says that she personally prefers two colors – either light pink or dark red.

“Sometimes I will switch it up and go for other pastel polishes, but I still go back to my two basics. Because I have been with Posh Nails for a long time, I really look forward to my treatments as my time to relax. When it makes you feel this good, hahanapin na siya ng katawan mo to the point that it almost becomes an addiction,” she laughs.

She encourages other busy professionals to take time off for some pampering, as it helps to de-stress from a busy schedule. The specialised treatments at Posh Nails are a good way to unwind while making sure that your nails are always in tip-top condition.
