Following the announcement that South Korean superstars Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are tying the knot in October, pregnancy rumor also started spreading around. But the “Song Song Couple” was quick to deny this rumor.
In a statement, Song Hye Kyo’s talent agency, United Artists Agency said, “This rumor is completely groundless.”
The wedding announcement of the Descendants of the Sun stars came to be a big surprise. Although people see them together numerous times, the couple had not admitted the real score between them until recently when they officially told their fans that they are getting married.
The 31-year-old Song Joong Ki recalled how he was able to develop a friendship with Song Hye Kyo while doing the megahit series that eventually led to a romantic relationship.
“I recently had the honor of participating in a production that could let me shine. It was such an amazing experience to me because I received so much undeserved love. During that time, I made a precious friend who eventually became my lover,” says the actor.
He then revealed that they decided to spend their lives together “in the beginning of 2017,” and continued, “In order to begin a new life where we can get through difficult times together, Song Hye Kyo and I have decided to get married on the last day of October.”
The actor also asked for understanding on why they had to keep their relationship a secret.
“I think a lot of my loving fans would’ve been taken aback by the sudden news. I wanted to tell everyone earlier, but I had to be cautious because it was a decision that involved two people and their respective families,” he appeals to their fans.
Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo, 35, also asked for her fans’ understanding. She said, “I think many of you would’ve been surprised by the sudden news. It may appear as if I lacked consideration for my fans, but I hope you will understand my intentions.”
