Katrina Anne Johnson of Davao was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International 2025 on Sunday evening, June 15, during the coronation night held at the Araneta Coliseum in Araneta City.

Johnson, 25, emerged as the top winner among 36 candidates, succeeding Myrna Esguerra of Abra, who is set to represent the Philippines at Miss International 2025. Johnson will instead compete in the global pageant’s 2026 edition.
In addition to clinching the pageant’s highest title, Johnson also won the Best in Evening Gown award and received the Binibining Dunkin’ special award.
Joining her among the titleholders is Annabelle Mae McDonnell of Iligan City, who was named Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2025. McDonnell succeeds Pampanga’s Jasmin Bungay, who finished as second runner-up in Miss Globe 2024.
Las Piñas’ Dalia Varde Khattab finished as first runner-up, while Kathleen Enid Espenido of Siargao placed second runner-up.

During the final question-and-answer segment, Johnson was asked by judge and MTRCB chairperson Lala Sotto to reflect on the phrase: “Lies told a thousand times become the truth,” in the context of fake news.
“Social media helps us connect with everyone regardless of where we are,” Johnson said. “But with that, fake news spreads. The best way to combat that is through education—teaching people how to discern information. We need to be aware, we need to regulate, and make our online communities a safe space for everyone.”

McDonnell’s final question prompted her to address a viral incident involving a woman crawling out of a drainage canal in Makati. Drawing from her own experience with poverty, she offered a message of hope.
“I say that I wish you never go hungry another night,” she said. “When you hit rock bottom, don’t despair and don’t use that as your identity. Use rock bottom as your launchpad.”
She recalled selling bread and second-hand clothes as a teenager to help support her family, saying, “You can do it, as long as you believe in the beauty of your dreams.”
