Binibining Pilipinas Parade of Beauties holds up traffic and the rain

It did not rain when the much-anticipated annual Binibining Pilipinas Parade of Beauties passed by around Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City, on Sunday afternoon, watched by a huge, enthusiastic crowd.

Bb. Pilipinas International 2024 Myrna Esguerra joined the 36 would-be successors to her crown as they paraded riding on convertible, topless vintage cars, radiant in identical orange swimsuits and sarongs. The parade is a prelude to the grand coronation night, which will take place tomorrow, June 15, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Esguerra was joined by Bb. Pilipinas-Globe 2024 and Miss Globe 2024 2nd runner-up Jasmin Bungay, Bb. Pilipinas 2024 1st runner-up Christal Dela Cruz, and Bb. Pilipinas 2024 2nd runner-up Trisha Martinez.

Esguerra said that she recalled her moments during last year’s parade and was grateful to be showered with the same love and support she received when she was a candidate. It gave her the motivation to do more in her preparation for the Miss International pageant scheduled later this year in Tokyo, Japan.

“My advice to all the candidates this year is, first and foremost, to have fun, to smile all throughout. The nerves may get to you, but know how to manage them and the pressure, and also very important is stage presence. Take a deep breath and organize your thoughts before you answer during the final interview,” said the reigning Bb. Pilipinas International.

Three Binibini top contenders—Binibini 1 Jeanette Reyes of Batangas City, Binibini 25 Katrina Anne Johnson of Davao Province, and Binibini 7 Annabelle Mae Tate McDonnell of Iligan City—who were listening intently, nodded in agreement to the queen’s valuable advice, which stemmed from her experience, wisdom, and expertise.
