Maris Racal turned emotional after watching her film “Sunshine” for the first time during its premiere at the Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy, on April 25 (EU time).
Racal, who stars as a young gymnast facing an unexpected pregnancy, attended the screening alongside director Antoinette Jadaone.
The film, which has garnered international acclaim, previously won the Crystal Bear for Best Film at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival.

“Finally napanood ko na kagabi ang ‘Sunshine.’ I have no words. I just want to thank my director, @tonetjadaone, for this story,” Racal shared on Instagram.
“Ang tapang, ang bigat, at sobrang importanteng mapanood ng mga tao lalo na ngayon. Excited na kaming iuwi ang ‘Sunshine’ para sa inyo!”
The film has also been featured at other international festivals, including the Palm Springs International Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival.
