Lola Amour expands global reach with ‘Maria’

Indie band Lola Amour takes a big step in its international journey with the release of “Maria,” a collab song with Australian artist Oliver Cronin.

Written during a music camp in Malaysia, the track tells the story of two men, Oliver and Lola Amour’s lead singer Pio, who are both in love with Maria, unaware of her secret betrayal.

Cronin praised the band’s sound, saying, “Working with the Lola Amour boys was an incredible experience. Their seven-piece dynamic brought something fresh and magical to ‘Maria,’ creating a perfect blend of our worlds.”

“Maria” is part of Cronin’s deluxe EP Edge of Paradise, released by Warner Music Australia on Jan. 30. The EP features nine tracks, with “Maria” being a standout.

Cronin shared, “The last few years have been an absolute rollercoaster… but I’ve grown a lot and feel more comfortable and confident in the music and what paradise looks and sounds like for me.”

With over 39.1 million combined streams and a growing social media following, Cronin is gaining attention in the music world.

On the other hand, Lola Amour’s global reach is growing. In the last 28 days, the band’s Spotify listeners have increased, with Indonesia ranking second, followed by the U.S., Canada, and Australia. In this period, the band had 108,000 listeners in Indonesia, 92,000 in the U.S., 60,000 in Canada, and 28,000 in Australia.

“Maria” is just the start of Lola Amour’s 2025 international collaborations as they work to strengthen their presence in Southeast Asia.

The band has already performed with Coldplay and showcased the group’s talent at international festivals like Trifecta Music Festival in Singapore and Hush Festival in Macau. The band also attended songwriting camps, including one in Malaysia with producer Hyuk Shin.
