ABS-CBN received a total of 14 awards for its outstanding shows, celebrities, and journalists at the Gawad Pilipino 2022 Icon Awards recently held at the Metropolitan Theater.
Award-winning actress and host Charo Santos-Concio was hailed as the Outstanding Drama Anthology Host of The Year for Maalaala Mo Kaya, the longest-running television drama anthology in the Philippines.
Kapamilya artists were also honored including Anne Curtis (Outstanding Female Host), Ogie Alcasid (Most Outstanding Male Host of the Year), Joshua Garcia (Outstanding Performance by an Actor), Ivana Alawi (Best Actress), Jed Madela (Favorite Balladeer of The Year), Anthony Barion (Promising Young Male Host Award of The Year), Moira Lacambra (Promising Pop Solo Award of The Year), and Arjo Atayde (Outstanding Public Servant of the Year).
ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime was also named as the Best Noontime Show during the awarding ceremony.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN News personalities took home awards including Noli de Castro (Outstanding News and Public Affairs TeleRadyo Host of the Year), Amy Perez (Outstanding Female TeleRadyo Host of the Year), Alvin Elchico (Most Outstanding Male News Presenter of The Year), and Bernadette Sembrano (Outstanding Broadcast Journalist of The Year).
The Gawad Filipino Awards is an annual event that aims to recognize the excellence of Filipinos through their passion and work ethics that influence Philippine culture, tradition, and society.
