Jhassy Busran, sweet sixteen

There is more to Jhassy Busran than wanting candy, ice cream, teddy bear, and lollipop now that she is a young miss of 16 summers.

The lead star of the forthcoming romantic teen movie billed Home I Found In You shares her feelings about being in this no longer a child but not yet a lady status: “I am happy to be 16. I know that I am still young but I look to do more challenging and exciting things, especially in school and in show business. Meeting new people, establishing friendships where I learn from them also, not just allies and kasama sa kulitan.”

She carries on: “To do, try and learn new things, especially in acting, singing and other artistic and creative endeavors, gusto kong gawin. Thankful of course to my parents, who are supportive and who always tells me to be always good and give my best in whatever I do.”

At this tender age, Busran realizes that change happens all the time. That she can never be complacent and that life is the best teacher.

“In the pandemic, we all experienced, it made me appreciate my family, health, and friends more. Although we live comfortably, dapat talaga hindi magastos kasi talaga sobrang magastos po ko. The pandemic situation taught me not to spend too much and inuuna ko na yung needs kesa wants.”

People are saying she shares good chemistry with John Heindrick Sitjar, her leading man in the Gabby Ramos directed teen romance flick. In fact, during her 16th birthday shindig held at Plaza Ibarra, Sitjar acts as her escort and dashing prince.

Asked about her thoughts about romantic love, the miss divulges: “Not in a hurry to be in a romantic relationship I want to enjoy what I have now. I am fortunate that Johm, not only is not my screen partner, he has become a good friend. He is nice. A gentleman. And siyempre kasi we have a movie together, siya ang lagi kong kasama.”

With two international acting trophies for her performance in Pugon, and being part of the cast of Caught In The Act and Genius Teens, Busran says her feet are firmly on the ground as she reaches for the stars.

“I think the changes are more physically than anything. Since I need to look good, kailangan mukhang artista palagi especially pag may public appearance. When you become a public figure,you have to learn how to take care of yourself. Emotionally speaking, nothing chnaged. I am the same Jhassy. My friends and family can attest to that. At kung sakali mang may magbabago and it not a good one, I am sure my family and friends will immediately call my attention.”

Her wishes? The sweet sixteen teen ager answers: “Happiness, good health, guidance, more projects and siyempre maging successful po itong bago naming movie.”

Three highlights of her birthday celebration are the 16 sunflowers segment, the lanterns with the girls moment and her fabulous four dresses.

She explains the sunflowers: “It is my favorite flower. For me, it is a happy flower and sa special day ko po all I want is to be happy and that my friends and loved ones are happy as well.”

The meaning of the 16 lanterns, Jhassy explains: “Disney’s Tangled is a favorite of mine. Di ba si Rapunzel dun, every birthday niya nag papalipad ng mga lantern. I wanted to have that magical experience as well. Though my lanters did not fly, at least lantern pa rin. You know, lanterns radiate a calming an soothing light, guide siya most of the times. And in the movie, it was Rapunzel’s symbol of hope.”

Her gowns made by JM Gumatay, Marshee Navarro and another one which she created, are all classy, age appropriate, and defines that she indeed has fashion taste that screams elegant sophistication.

Jhassy Busran, this sweet sixteen miss, will surely bloom and blossom into a beautiful and fine lady.
