In this day and age of intermittent fasting, keto diet, and the clamor to become vegan, encountering a book with a title such How to Never Diet Forever is outright intriguing. The promise and premise it presents, is not only unthinkable but unworkable.

“There is no pill or candy for depression. It is not easy. Finding the answers to alleviate my sufferings took time, and cliché as it may seem, finding your strength in love, which is self-love, is how I made it through.”

This is what she advocates now, self-care activities, with yoga on top of her list. She explains: “One of the most actionable ways to find self-love is through yoga. I started practicing yoga from five minutes to an hour. I fell in love with the practice.”

Herrera fell so in love with meditation and yoga that she flew to India to formally study the practice. She also revealed that it was through a meditation session that she felt the urge to go back to the Philippines to serve.

“An insight came to me to share this message of hope and healing. One of the easiest ways to do that is to write a book,” Herrera shares.

While self-doubt and procrastination got in the way of publishing the book, Herrera powered through by practicing what she preaches in the chapters.
