Actress and social media personality Ana Jalandoni couldn’t hold back her tears during her first public appearance since the incident that happened on March 18, when she was allegedly beaten by ex-lover Kit Thompson.
Speaking to the entertainment press on Monday afternoon, the 25-year-old Ana who was wearing sunglasses to hide the still visible bruises on her face, admitted that she still loves the actor and is ready to forgive him anytime he reaches out to her.
“Fix yourself,” was her short answer when asked about her message to Kit.
“Mahal ko pa rin ang tao, pero ang galit nandun pa rin yun. Kaya nga ako nagfile ng case, dun ko idadaan ang galit ko, sa tamang proseso. Tao rin ako, marunong ako magpatawad pero lahat ng bagay na ginagawa natin ay may consequences lalo na kapag gumawa tayo ng mali,” she carried on while breaking down in between words.
“Hindi ko deserve ‘yung nangyari sa akin. Kailangang ipaglaban ko ang sarili ko,” she went on.
Accompanied by her lawyers and some family members, Ana clarified that there was no third party involved in their altercation and it was the alcohol that triggered the fight.
She admitted though that she was previously married in the United States in 2017. That relationship ended in 2018, she said.
“There’s no third party involved. Dun siya nagseselos sa ex ko. Iniisip niya na iiwan ko din siya tulad ng ex ko. Duon nagsimula yung away,” she said.
Two counts of violence against women, illegal detention, and frustrated homicide have been filed with the fiscal’s office in Tagaytay.
“The case will continue even if they decided to reconcile,” Ana’s lawyer Faye Singson said explaining that it’s already a public case.
As a parting message, Ana said that women should not be afraid to fight when they are being abused and trust that authorities will help them in their situation.
“Sa mga babae na nakaranas ng ganitong pangyayari, wag kayong matakot dahil unang una dapat hindi tayo sinasaktan ng mga lalaki, hindi tayo dapat pinagbubuhatan ng kamay. Kung mangyari ito sa inyo, huwag nating kimkimim o tanggapin dahil tayo ang kawawa, dapat putilin natin ang tali na yan. Nandun yung takot, pero sa ngayon dapat putulin natin ang ganyan. Dapat labanan niyo at lakasan niyo ang loob nyo,” she ended.
