Losing in a television talent competition will not spell the end of someone’s career. In fact, some people win at life after failing to clinch a title and even attempt to join a different search and eventually become victorious.

Case in point, Mariane Osabel did not falter when she lost in a popular contest for aspiring singers. She just used the experience to be better so she could bounce back.

Mariane grew up listening to the songs of Beyoncé and Whitney Houston.

On Dec. 19, during  The  Final  Clash, the Iligan native proved that she deserved the title. With her incredible vocal prowess, she rose above  the  intense battles and was eventually named The Clash 2021 Grand Champion.

In a virtual conference held a few days after her winning, Mariane met with the entertainment press to celebrate her sweet victory.

“I’m still on cloud nine,” she told Manila Standard Entertainment. “People said I’m very confident during that night. I had nothing left to do but to be confident because I could feel the support of the people close to me and the fans who believed in my talent.”

In the morning of the competition, her brother Arn, whom she saw joining different singing competitions before, told her that she was going to win.

“My brother told me that I’m going to be the grand champion. And he was serious. I did not entertain the thought but I was determined to give my all while enjoying the finals. My brother is 17 years older than me, he’s already a veteran in this field so he must have seen something in me for him to say that,” she recalled.

Mariane still felt surreal days after winning the title.

“I’ve never been this proud of myself. Totoo ba ‘to? I’m loving this new chapter of my life. Thank you, Panginoon! Thank you for listening.

Thank you for all those experiences in  the  past. Thank you for giving me this wonderful talent. Thank you for anointing me,” she shared.

Her winning song during  The  Final  Clash  was Harish Joya’s “Bakit Mahal Pa Rin Kita,” besting Pampanga’s Vilmark Viray who performed

Christian Paul Rosa’s “Umuwi Ka Na” – both original compositions are from  The  Clash  songwriting challenge.

“The judges’ words of encouragement were also helpful. They made me feel confident that night,” Mariane, who grew up listening to the songs of Beyoncé and Whitney Houston, added.

The  Clash  Panel, is composed of Lani Misalucha, Christian Bautista, and AiAi delas Alas.

As Grand Champion, Mariane will receive prizes worth over P4 million, which includes P1 million in cash, a house and lot, and an exclusive management contract with GMA-7.

The Clash is hosted by Rayver Cruz and Julie Anne San Jose with Journey Hosts  Rita Daniela  and  Ken Chan.
