The last episode of Wish Ko Lang’s month-long Christmas special trains the spotlight on actress Max Collins who will prove that her will is stronger against the effects of any love potion.

Max plays the role of Regina, a beautiful girl in a small town with whom many are attracted to. Her childhood friend Adan, played by Dave Bornea, who has a facial deformity becomes obsessed with her and decides to cast a spell of a love potion on Max’s character. She later finds herself fighting the effects of the potion to save herself from an unhealthy relationship.

“It’s a beautiful episode because it’s like an indie film. We shot it by a river and it has some very intense scenes,” Max shared.

“Gayuma” is Max’s next acting project after starring in the TV series To Have And To Hold.

When it comes to their intense scenes, Max shared that she trusted her co-stars, who remained professional and dedicated to their characters throughout the production.

Max, however, also believes that gayuma only works to a certain extent and is countered with faith.

Although some people are skeptical about the effects of gayuma (love potion), Max believes in its existence. She even did some research about it so she can best adapt to her role and surroundings while filming.

Through “Gayuma,” directed by Jojo Nadela, Max hopes to prove that true love isn’t something that can be forced.

“We all know that if we force something or a feeling, the outcome isn’t as pleasant,” Max said in Filipino.

The actress added that the role she plays in Wish Ko Lang is more substantial compared to her previous guesting in 2017.

Aside from being excited to portray the role of a strong female lead who’s battling her way against the mystic forces of gayuma, Max is also proud that Wish Ko Lang has been featuring women for their Christmas special.

“This month is about women empowerment for Wish Ko Lang and all the female characters for this month are very strong. I’m proud to be one of them,” said Max who is married to another Kapuso star, Pancho Magno.

Just last year, she gave birth to their son Skye Anakin, who turned one last July 6. For Max, being a mother has helped her embrace her womanhood fully.

By 2022, she hopes to create films, do another television series, and immerse herself in her work, which she finds enjoyable, especially now that she’s in a good place in her career to receive various opportunities. She added that she’s also open to portraying sexy roles, provided that it has a deeper meaning instead of merely focusing on the physical.

Wish Ko Lang’s “Gayuma” episode, which premieres on Christmas Day, also stars Jak Roberto, Bench Hipolito, Bernacular, and Taya Gomez.
