Back for another adventure-filled season, Jaime Dempsey—host of Ride N’ Seek—is set to travel again across the Philippine archipelago, in search for the Filipino identity and character.

Now on its fourth season, Jaime will continue the expedition on her motorcycle and discover more of the less explored islands in the country.

“I have to give credit to the producers of Ride N’ Seek. They really put everything together for me, the places that we visit, and the only thing that I have to do is to gain for any new experience,” Jaime told Manila Standard in an exclusive phone interview.

Last season, Jaime traveled from north to the southern tips of Luzon, meeting locals whose roots date back to the Philippine history and helped shape Filipino culture to what it is today.

Jaime Dempsey will visit the country again to explore local destinations and feature them in her show ‘Ride N’ Seek’

“As I spent more time in the Philippines, I learned more about the history of the place and visited more historical sites and met with new people whose ancestors had been a part of some important events and for me being a little bit more connected to the place historically brought me a little bit closer to it,” she said.

The American rider recounted that the most remarkable out of all the experiences she had was in Kalinga that left a lasting memory.

“Kalinga really captured a piece of my heart and I really do actually want to go back there on my own sometime.”

Jaime narrated how she rode a tricycle up the mountain and a two-hour hike up into Apo Whang-Od’s village and got tattooed by the nonagenarian artist.

“For me it was actually about picking up the tradition. Whang Od did the front part of my shoulder tattooed and I’m thinking I’d really love to go back and have her niece continue it onto the back part of my shoulder and have that kind of older and younger generation touching on both sides of my shoulder,” the host said.

Jaime has been riding bikes for 10 years now. And the advocacy that comes with this adventure is simply to show the beauty and history of the different places she travels to.

“I’m trying to showcase the different places that I visit, try and show places that maybe travelers wouldn’t ordinarily think to visit. And so with the Philippines, I’ve been trying to show the beauty of the country and the culture and I want to inspire other people to visit there,” she said.

For the fourth season, Jaime will make her way back to Metro Manila, to the party-paradise that is Boracay, the historical city of Cebu, the islands of Bohol, the twin provinces of Samar and Leyte, and lastly to Northern Mindanao.

Ride N’ Seek airs on the History Channel. It will premiere on Aug. 28, Sunday at 10 p.m..
