When it comes to TV networks, Filipinos highly trust ABS-CBN Corporation as their source of information and entertainment.

Recently, ABS-CBN was the recipient of the Platinum Trusted Brand Award, the highest honor given to a brand at the annual Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Awards 2016 organized by Reader’s Digest Asia-Pacific.

ABS-CBN executives receive the Platinum Trusted Brand Award  for the TV Network

While ABS-CBN had won the Gold Trusted Brand award for the TV Network category for five consecutive years from 2010 to 2015, this is the first time that it bagged the Platinum Trusted Brand Award since 2010.

According to Reader’s Digest, the Platinum Trusted Brand award is given to “brands that performed exceptionally, winning their category with a score that vastly outpolled their nearest competitor.”

For the 2016 Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand survey, ABS-CBN, the country’s leading media and entertainment organization, emerged as the top scorer in the TV network category in a survey conducted among consumers in the Philippines spearheaded by CATALYST, a global market research company. Around 1,000 respondents were surveyed in the Philippines.

Toni Gonzaga is recognized as Most Trusted Entertainment/Variety Show Presenter

Survey participants gave high ratings to ABS-CBN based on the qualitative criteria of trustworthiness, credibility, quality, value, understanding of customer needs, innovation and social responsibility. Half of the respondents were Reader’s Digest subscribers, while the remainder was composed of randomly selected respondents that reflected the demographics of the general population.

Meanwhile, Kapamilya star Toni Gonzaga is also this year’s Most Trusted Entertainment/Variety Show Presenter, a special award honoring the country’s most trusted personalities.

Reader’s Digest defines trust as “an emotion that fuels our decision whether we are conscious of it or not. It is that intangible quality that signals reliability and integrity.”

Now on its 18th year, the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Survey in Asia is conducted annually and seeks to identify which brands consumers in Asia trust, and provides an objective and reliable reference for consumers throughout the region.

Young actor Kristoffer Martin plays a dramatic role in today’s episode of “Wish Ko Lang”

Kapuso actor Kristoffer Martin plays the son who will do everything for his family in this Saturday’s episode of Wish Ko Lang!

Since his father was sent to jail, Mark (Kristoffer) had to take the responsibility of supporting his family. His siblings are too young to take care of themselves and their mother seems to have accepted the fact that her husband won’t be able to be free again.

Meanwhile, Mark’s mother finds herself a new partner—younger and almost Mark’s age. To make matters worse, Mark is not in good terms with this man who also lays his hands on Mark and his siblings.

Catch Kristoffer together with Jak Roberto, Elijah Alejo, Mikoy Morales, and Tanya Gomez in Wish Ko Lang!, hosted by Vicky Morales, after Karelasyon on GMA-7 today.

The Philippines once again made its mark in the global entertainment scene as over 26,000 fans from across the globe gathered together for some explosive dance music performed by renowned local and internaaional pop icons in this year’s biggest music event, the MTV Music Evolution Manila 2016.

Presented by the Department of Tourism (DOT), and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), the one-night-only outdoor live music event, with the theme Can’t Stop Movin!, presented the amazing evolution of pop music and its dance influences. The concert grounds of SM Mall of Asia was basically on fire as fans danced, cheered and sang their hearts out on hit after hit of iconic and contemporary pop dance music.

World-renowned local artists, Mr. Pure Energy Gary V. and his son, Gab Valenciano fired up the stage with an intense set of performance. Filipino favorite teen love team, James Reid and Nadine Lustre followed sending fans high above the love cloud with their kilig-filled performance.

American singer-songwriter, Bebe Rhexia also pumped up the stage with her hit songs including “Me, Myself and I” and “Broken Hearts”. Fans also went wild as A-Pink, one of Korea’s favorite K-pop idol female groups, flawlessly performed “Remember,” “Mr. Chu,” “Luv” and “No No No.” L.A. grown electronic dance trio Far East Movement got everyone singing, dancing and jumping with their hit singles, “Like a G6” and “Rocketeer.” The headliner, prolific hit-maker, One Republic, wrapped up their performance of “Counting Stars,” “Apologize,” “Stop and Stare” and “Secret” with an explosion of fireworks.

It gets even better as the Philippines will also be highlighted in a global telecast reaching an international audience of more than three-quarters of a billion households in over 160 countries under the MTV World Stage global series.

Only on its second year, MTV Music Evolution Manila 2016 proved once again that the Philippines is not only a premier global destination for arts and culture and leisure and adventure, but is also one of the world’s top destinations for world-class entertainment.
