The documentary film following the international concert tour of the famous Japanese pop-rock band L’Arc-en-Ciel will be screened at SM Cinema on Feb. 28.
Over The L’Arc~en~Ciel features the band’s travel to 14 cities and performances at 17 sold-out shows in different countries as part of “World Tour 2012”. The documentary also reveals the challenges of the concert tour, an in-depth look at Japanese and international fans, and quiet personal moments of band members Hyde (vocals), Ken (guitars), Tetsuya (bass), and Yukihiro (drums).
According to Cosplay.PH Director for Marketing Patrick Henry de Dios, the screening of the docu is in response to Filipino fans’ request. “It is more like L’Arc~en~Ciel chose the Philippines to be part of their international screening. They observed that the Philippines has a blooming fan base which they would like to reach out and this screening is one of those ways.”
Aside from the screening, L’Arc~en~Ciel fans can also participate in several activities. “At the event, we will give away freebies for early bird ticket holders. A message board will be available where fans can write their messages to be delivered to the management of the band. There are also lots of opportunities to meet new friends with the same devotion for L’Arc~en~Ciel,” adds de Dios.
Presented locally by Cosplay.PH and Live Viewing Japan, the “Over The L’Arc~en~Ciel” docu film was also screened in Indonesia. It will also be shown in Thailand (Feb. 28), Singapore (Feb.27-28), U.S. (March 1), United Kingdom (March 8), Argentina, Hong Kong, and Mexico.
Formed in 1991, L’Arc-en-Ciel has sold over 15 million records and 30 million singles, has toured extensively in Asia and Europe, and were the first Japanese act to headline New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
The band is also known for writing theme songs of several anime series such as DNA2, Rurouni Kenshin, Great Teacher Onizuka, and Full Metal Alchemist. L’Arc-en-Ciel also wrote and performed the official soundtracks of animated movies Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and Full Metal Alchemist.
Over The L’Arc~en~Ciel will be screened at Cinema 2 in SM North Edsa, Quezon City and tickets are exclusively available at SM Tickets outlets.
