Empress Schuck back to where she started

NOW in a show on GMA, Empress Schuck is grateful for the second wind in her showbiz career, so to speak.

“That’s true!” she says. “I’m in Kailan Ba Tama ang Mali along with Geoff Eigenmann, Max Collins and Dion Ignacio. It feels good. It’s a great opportunity. I’m simply thankful!”

It is public knowledge that she was an ABS-CBN talent for the longest time. In fact, she was given a solo-starrer titled Rosalka. That’s why many were surprised when she decided to move to the Kapuso network.

“Well, it was a career move. For almost two years, I didn’t have major projects with ABS-CBN. They didn’t renew my contract when it expired. Admittedly, I was very saddened with that development.

“It came to a point when I was already considering quitting the ‘biz because my career was neither here nor there. It’s good that one time, my manager (Becky Aguila) told me that GMA had an offer.  That revived my passion for acting once again. I guess it was perfect timing.”

The pretty star reiterates that she left her former home studio in a professional and peaceful manner.

“Of course, we asked their permission regarding the offer from GMA and they gave their blessing. For me, that was the sign that it’s time to move on. When they gave their nod, I felt relieved. Everything went smoothly. I was just so glad,” adds Empress.

So far, how’s the feeling of being in the Kapuso territory?

“It’s great actually! For the benefit of those who don’t know yet, I originally started in GMA. I was seven then. Until now, I’m overwhelmed with how the management welcomed me back to its fold. They’ve been so warm since Day One. From the staff, crew and stars, they’re tops!”

The 21-year-old actress has also good words for her Kailan Ba Tama ang Mali co-stars.

“All of them are nice and cooperative. I’m pretty sure we’ll have a smooth-sailing work relationship. Max used to be with me in the rival network and I see that nothing has changed in her since she became a Kapuso a few years ago. She is as kind as ever and I’m happy to be working with her in this wonderful program,” ends Empress.

Maja Salvador is vocal in expressing her excitement working opposite Dennis Trillo in Regal Entertainment and Star Cinema’s Now and Forever.

“Yes, we’re busy shooting the film at this point. It’s a different experience because it’s my first time to work with him and in a grand potboiler such as this. I’m happy because this is something new for the viewing public,” she avers.

The talented star views this development as something to look forward to.

“That’s right! It’s not every day that projects like this occur. As you all know, Dennis and I belong to rival networks so our screen pairing is like a breath of fresh air. It’s a fresh team-up and it’s a romantic vehicle so I hope movie buffs will support it. I’m grateful for the chance to work with someone from another station and of Dennis’ caliber.”

Speaking of leading men, Maja is also glad to be working with Jericho Rosales and Paulo Avelino in her latest prime time offering over at ABS-CBN titled Bridges.

“It’s exciting as well since I’ve already worked with them previously. Jericho was with me in the soap The Legal Wife while Paulo in the film Status: It’s Complicated. This time, the three of us will share the screen, breathing life to new characters and fresh story line. I’m sure it will be a welcome thing for tele-viewers,” she says.
