AirAsia Philippines is set to return to Singapore and Hong Kong this December to service overseas Filipino workers who will be coming home to the Philippines for the Christmas break.

Beginning Dec. 4, AirAsia’s weekly Manila-Singapore flight Z2-825 will depart from NAIA Terminal 3 every Saturday at 8:00 a.m. and arrive at Changi Airport 11:40 a.m.  Its return flight Z2-826 will depart Changi Airport at 12:25 p.m. and is expected to arrive at NAIA T3 around 4:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, AirAsia’s bi-weekly Manila-Hong Kong flight will take off on Sundays beginning Dec. 5. Z2-1264 will depart from NAIA T3 at 8:35 a.m. and is expected to arrive at Hong Kong International Airport at 10:55 a.m.  Its return flight will leave an hour after and is expected to land in Manila at 2:00 p.m.

“Hong Kong and Singapore have always been key markets for AirAsia primarily because of the number of OFWs present in these economic hubs. This is why we are very much excited to kickstart the return of our international flights with these routes,” AirAsia Philippines Spokesperson Steve Dailisan said.

“To us at AirAsia, this signals the much-anticipated post pandemic recovery, and there’s no better time to celebrate it with the warm homecoming of Filipinos for Christmas. The AirAsia team has extensively prepared for this, and we are delighted to take part in these meaningful family reunions,” he added.

Government data showed that as of June 2021, there are 165,000 OFWs in Hong Kong and 30,000 in Singapore.

The Philippines has categorized Hong Kong under the Green list, which means fully vaccinated travelers will no longer be required to undergo quarantine but will be asked to submit a negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to departure.

Fully vaccinated travelers coming from Singapore, which falls under the Yellow list, will be required to undergo a 5-day quarantine until the release of their RT-PCR test. They will then be allowed to finish their quarantine at home.

To celebrate the resumption of flights, AirAsia Philippines is also offering an early Christmas treat to OFWs with the “airasia Balikbayan Package.”

By using the promo code BLKBYN10, travelers can enjoy 10 percent off on Manila to Singapore and vice-versa flights which will be booked from Nov. 8 to 21, with travel dates from Dec. 4, 2021 to March 26, 2022.

Likewise, travelers who will book a flight from Hong Kong to Manila and vice-versa will also get a 10 percent discount for bookings made until Nov. 14 for Dec. 5, 2021 to March 31, 2022 flights.

Another 10 percent discount will be given for OFWs who will book their domestic flights from Nov. 15 to 28 for flights from Dec. 1, 2021 to March 26, 2022.

AirAsia is also giving OFWs special discounts on 40-kg baggage (P1,390 discounted price), RT-PCR test (P2,400 discounted price) and a maximum discount of P4,000 on hotels for quarantine stay.  All these exclusive offerings are made available at airasia.com and Super App.

‘This is our warm welcome for our beloved OFWs. Whatever savings they get from the affordable deals AirAsia offers can be squeezed in for added gifts to the balikbayan boxes they’ll be flying home for their families this Christmas,” Dailisan said.

“We hope to put warm smiles on their faces as we fly them home safely, and give them peace of mind with our world class service,” he added.
