The Plaridel station’s eco-bricks allow for greater insulation, which in the long run drastically reduces energy consumption, resulting in lower financial costs and adverse environmental impact. They are compact and stronger than traditional hollow blocks and are not vulnerable to fire hazards. Pilipinas Shell, through its social development arm, Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) also partnered with Green Antz to set up an eco-brick manufacturing hub in Cagayan De Oro. Pilipinas Shell has plans to build approximately 50 new mobility stations completely made from eco-bricks within the five years, as well as upgrade its existing 1,100 sites nationwide.
