TBPeople Philippines bolsters campaign in Luzon

Members of the advocacy group TBPeople Philippines recently visited its leaders across Luzon to further push for a holistic approach in dealing with tuberculosis.

The group held meetings with its leaders in Central Luzon in San Fernando, Pampanga; in Calabarzon in Calamba, Laguna; and in Metro Manila.

The leaders are TB survivors who have undergone training to push for the protection and well-being of people with tuberculosis.

Part of their campaign is to address the stigma associated with the communicable disease that has led to discrimination of persons with tuberculosis.

In Manila, the group visited a health center under the TB-DOTS program of the Department of Health to check how accessible the facility is for people with tuberculosis.
